I wanted to shoot everyone on update on my weekend. I race in Millersburg, Ohio this past saturday at the Ohio Outlaw Motorsport’s Rutherford Memorial. I did a major change on my chassis this weekend on my CRF 450. A bigger change then I have done all season long. I ended up winning my heat race and winning the main event by a straight-away. It felt good to take home the win a descent size purse.
I also entered the Open Pro Quad class. Bob Kline lended me a super fast Honda 450 quad for this race. It was paying $1500 and there were 30 super fast pro racers from all over the east coast. I never rode a quad before, so I defintley jumped in the deep end. I qualfied 20th, which wasn’t too great. However, I pulled a super good holeshot and won one of the 5 heat races! I was pumped to get in the main event, let alone on the front row. The thumb style throttle was really hard for me to figure out, so we put a real throttle on it. I got a really bad start in the main event. A rider crashed in turn three and I went to avoid him. I launched up off the banking at like 70mph, probably got 15 ft of air and went sailing into the pits. I got it stopped right before a parked fire truck, grabbed the front brake, pulled a 360 and joined the tail end of the race. I ended up working my way up to 6th place, right on the lead pack at the finish. Everyone was really pumped with my finish, but I was just happy to be alive, haha! That was one of the most scariest racing moments of my life. I think with a good start, I had a legit shot at winning.
I beat alot of the best quad pro riders in the country my first time ever riding one and I won the the pro motorcycle class, so overall it was a good night. Three wins in two weekends. I think we are heading in the right direction. I am having fun and feeling great. Stay tuned..

September 25th, 2011New Blog…
September 6th, 2011I hope everyone had a good summer and everything is going well as we head into my favorite season, autumn. After scoring a win in Sturgis, I had high hopes going into Springfield. Things didn’t go as planned during the weekend. Through-out both days, I felt fast but just couldn’t put anything together during the races and ended up doing the complete opposite of what I planned which was watching both main events.
In 2009, we had a very good program with Rich Hanson tuning the wrenches at the track and my dad/grandather and Rich Meisenbach working on the bikes at the shop. We made 6 main events that season and were very close to making a bunch more. To start off 2010, I got injured in March in which I didn’t feel anything better then 80% healed until August. I won a race in August in Ironton, OH, then the week after that, my Dad passed away. I trained hard during the offseason and I felt like I was riding better then I ever was, I just wasn’t sure how 2011 would turn out without the support of our biggest sponsor and fan around anymore. West Coast Swing…
August 14th, 2011Hey everyone,
I just got home from our west coast trip and man did it feel like forever. The last time I wrote to you, we just got done with Sacramento and were headed to Castle Rock, Washington for the TT national. Castle Rock will always have a special place in my heart as it was there I traveled for the first time without my Dad to a race. In 2006 as a pro-sport, I loaded up and headed west with a friend Doug Reinert who was also a pro-sport rider, just a few years older then me. We had a good time and spent alot of time together that trip and he helped me out alot then and I ended up with a 3rd on the TT and a 2nd on the Short Track. This winter, Doug was killed in a motorcycle accident. He was a cool dude and I just wanted to give a shout out to my friend, #30a. Read more »
Update…
July 31st, 2011I just wanted to get on an update everyone on what RLT Racing has been up to these past couple weeks. Well, we headed out to race in Michigan with good friend and west coast buddy, Chad Cose. Michigan has been a track I have liked in the past. I got 3rd here as a basic expert and I usually go good there. The track was pretty cool, like it always is. The bike I usually run on clay half miles has been out of commission the last couple weeks. We have been having some issues frying spark plugs so we think something is messed up with the timing. My mechanic Bryan suffered a loss in his family, so we haven’t had time to fix it yet, so Shayna has allowed me to use one of her XR 750′s in the meantime. I ran the bike at Hagerstown and we got close to making the show there, but the bike seemed down on power. We ran it again in Michigan and noticed that the caliber was locking up the rear wheel which is why it has felt sluggish. I went to my back up bike, which is my mile bike built for horsepower. I was up to 5th behind Coolbeth in the heat and felt like I was reeling him in, but the bike started handling really goofy and I got shuffled backwards. I think it had a little too much juice for the track in Michigan and we struggled with handling. It was a stressful day, but I was excited to head out west and get to Cali. Read more »
Mid-Summer blog…
July 11th, 2011I just wanted to get on here in the midst of the summer and let everyone know what I have been up to lately. I haven’t really been keeping up to date on my race reports. It seems as if as soon as I get home, clean up and work on the bikes all week, I am already at the next race and I drop the ball on them.
Since my first GNC main event of the year in Hartford, MI we have been staying pretty busy. We raced in Lima, OH where I qualified a season best 13th overall and managed a 7th in the one session only to start experiencing bike troubles. After a solid 6th in my heat, I ended up having a very poor showing in my semi and 3 of the guys I beat in the heat race ended up making the main as I sat and watched. It was a very low point in this season for me so far. Read more »
New Blog – 5/16/11
May 16th, 2011Just wanted to hop on and update everyone since I haven’t done that in a little over a month. I have been very busy. With the racing side of things and also with spending time and working at our family harley dealership. I pull a double duty all year long. Alot of racers focus all their time on racing and non on work, well I have been tought different. Not only do I fund, run and support RLT Racing that right now consists of Shayna & myself, I also work full-time at our shop. We have also been very busy doing yard work at the house, training and working on motorcycles for the busy part of the season coming up.
Our last 3 nationals was in Duquoin and California. We all packed up in the motorhome and headed out to the west coast. In Duquoin, Illinois, I was feeling pretty good all practice. I was in like the 6th session out and I still managed to qualify like 12th the last session out of 50 riders or so and with a horrible track. I started inside back row and I was feeling good. I went into turn one, found a hole and was in a good position to exit in 3rd or 4th place when I got t-boned from behind. It knocked me pretty good. I had a pretty good concussion and a broken knuckle in my left hand and alot of bumps and bruises. I actually broke my Arai helmet and I have never done that before. I didn’t even remember where I was as I told the paramedics I was in Springfield. As the night went on, my pain turned into disappointment as I sat and watched the remainder of the show including the main event. Read more »
New Blog….
April 4th, 2011Hey Everyone,
Thought id update everyone on what the heck I have been doing since I got back from Daytona. I have been trying to stay as busy as I can. I have been working alot at our dealership. I really want to progress in the shop and take it over as soon as everyone feels I am ready. I know I have along way to go, but I really care about the progression of it and I have seen alot of progress over the past couple months. Thanks to all our customers for the support. We couldn’t do it without you. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we care alot and harley’s are our lives. So bear with us as we make this transition and we will only continue to get better.
On the racing side of things.. Daytona was so up and down for me. Speed wise, I felt pretty good. I felt exceptional all week on my 750. I really feel like I can be a top 5 guy on my harley this year. I just have to put together good races. I also felt good on my 450, but not great. We struggled with the suzuki in Daytona so we came home and my sponsor, Lancaster Honda hooked me up with a brand new 2011 CRF. I sold the RMZ and now I am all red in the singles series. I am really putting my best effort into both series and I came home looking to improve quick and effective. Read more »

February 4th, 2011End of the year – all business
October 12th, 2010I haven’t updated my blog in a long time. It is kind of hard to explain the way I have been feeling and things that I am going through to everyone. On August 30th, I lost my best friend, biggest fan and my hero. My Dad joined all the racing greats such as Graham, Davis, Camlin, his buddy Rodney Farris and more up in heaven. It is about a month and a half since then and it really only does feel like yesterday. They say time heals everything, but so far I haven’t found that to be true. Actually it kind of feels like the opposite. All the cards, emails and texts have really meant alot to Shayna & myself. For people wanting to share memories and see photos/stories of my Dad, I made a facebook page dedicated to him. You can search “Randy Texter” and you will see it from there. Read more »

August 19th, 2010Just thought id pop on and update everyone. It has been quite a while. Things have been a roller coaster lately with my injury, things going on with my dad and just in general. Things are starting to look up now for the most part. My dad has been in the hospital for about a month now or more.
