RLT Racing ready to race during Daytona Bike Week

February 27th, 2012

RLT Racing’s Cory Texter made the 14 hour trip to Du Quoin, IL this past weekend for three days of testing and tuning.  The RLT Racing’s singles, tuned by Englehart R&T, were consistently at the top of the lap time charts all weekend, including number one qualifier for Saturdays race program.  Cory stated, “DuQuoin went very well. I had some good times all weekend and that was good for me. I wasn’t there to race really, but more so to test all three of my Englehart R&T 450′s. If I was fast on one bike, id hop on the other one and get that one working. I went down hard on saturday, and after that my main concern was to get out of there injury free and get ready for the busy week in Daytona. I feel great and my team is awesome. The Engleharts worked hard all weekend and I couldn’t thank them enough for this opportunity.”

Tom Englehart of ER&T had this to say about the testing, “The testing went really well.  We accomplished everything we wanted to this weekend.  The bikes ran great, and we dialed in the Durelle Racing suspension to fit Cory’s riding style.  I really think we are going to turn some heads in Georgia and Florida next week.” Read more »

Cory Texter/RLT Racing Ready for 2012 Season…

January 18th, 2012

Cory Texter and the RLT Racing team are excited for the 2012 season to start. After doing a limited schedule last year, Texter will be competing in the entire AMA Grand National Series this year. Texter had a very up and down 2011. He seems to think the inexperience in running his own program for this first time had a lot to do with it. “It was the first year we did everything by ourselves and the first year racing since our Dad passed away. We had some good days, but I got worn out really quick and I wasn’t having as much fun as I had hoped to. The budget got tight but we kept digging, and as a team, we finished out the season strong.”

This season, Texter is backed in both the singles and twins series. Englehart R&T will be backing Cory in the singles series for the 2012 season. Tom Englehart has a lot of knowledge and experience in dirttrack racing. He is supplying Cory with a stable of motorcycles and has been giving a lot of mental support to him as well. “I rode for Tom at a pro-am deal in Ohio this year and we worked very well together and had a lot of fun. He is one of the smartest guys I have ever met and for him to be helping me out means so much. We just started testing the bikes, but they have a lot of potential and having Tom there to work on them is just awesome.” Texter will also have the option of riding his own RLT Racing Honda as well. New Team for 2011…

November 3rd, 2010

RLT_logoCory & Shayna would like to thank all of their friends, family and fans for the support through a very rough and long 2010 season. 90% of their friends have come through racing and they will never forget the people who were there for them during these tough times. Without the support of their friends and family and the encouragement from their fans, they never would of been able to finish out the 2010 season. They were both awarded AMA’s Most Dedicated Riders Award at the year end banquet in Arizona. They both have the drive to compete and win in many more years to come. They have been riding and training the majority of their time in preparation for next seasons challenges. Through the support of close friends and their sponsors, they look to race the whole 2011 season under their new team formed by the siblings called “RLT Racing” after their late father Randy. Cory looks to race the full GNC Twins & Singles and Shayna looks to start off the year in the pro singles class and possibly move up to the GNC ranks at some point in the season. It will be tough for these young adults to do it alone, so anyone looking to help out a dedicated and succesful team with a family feel, please contact wideopenpress@gmail.com to receieve a 2011 RLT Racing resume. Thank you all for the support and stay tuned for updated news over the winter.

August 25th, 2010

By: OOM Media Relations / Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Two rain showers passed through the area Saturday afternoon, but quick response and expert track reconditioning meant the inaugural Southern Ohio Flat Track Championship at Rocky Top Raceway near Coal Grove, Ohio would not be denied. The rains pushed the program off schedule, but not only did the Rocky Top crew recover the track twice after the storms, they did so in such jaw dropping rapid fashion, the event wrapped up long before any lights were needed, with daylight to spare. Cory Texter Back In Action At The Springfield Mile

May 27th, 2010

By Wide Open Press

65It has been a long 8 weeks since Cory Texter broke multiple bones in his left arm, went under the knife for surgery to repair the damage, and started rehab to strengthen the arm but the cast is off and he is ready to get back to racing this weekend at the Mile in Springfield, IL.

“I’m excited to come back to racing at the Springfield mile; it’s one of my favorite tracks and one I feel I can run up front at,” Texter comments. In the time he’s been sidelined healing, Texter and his team have been working hard on improving his singles and twins programs and Cory has done his part by keeping up with the rest of his physical training and workout regimen. Even though he was looking forward to running the TT, his arm is not healed enough to do so, so Texter is concentrating on “taking it lap by lap all day and ride (his) best” and hopefully that puts him somewhere up front. “Last year in the fall race, I was making my way through the pack into the top ten when my motor went south with seven laps to go.” He definitely is looking for a better result this time around. Revised Schedule For 2010 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship

April 20th, 2010

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (April 20, 2010) – AMA Pro Racing released today a revised 2010 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship schedule, reflecting the unfortunate deletion of two events.  The two races,  Lexington, KY scheduled for June 19th and Castle Rock, WA scheduled for July 25th, have been deleted from the schedule due to scheduling and contractual issues that could not be resolved and therefore prevented both of these events from proceeding. Discussions for the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship race at The Red Mile in Lexington, KY could not resolve certain issues and unfortunately caused the cancellation of the event.
The Mt. St. Helens Motorcycle Club elected not to have their Castle Rock race compete against another event in the same marketplace also scheduled on July 25th and decided to not conduct the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National race for 2010. Read more »

Post Surgery Update on Cory Texter

April 2nd, 2010

Yesterday, April 1, 2010, Cory went under the knife for the injuries he received racing at Trailways Speedway in Hanover, PA March 22nd which included a broken ulna, radius and a carpal bone, dislocated the joint, and contusions to 8 of the other carpal bones in his left arm/wrist. The surgeon plated the break in the bone and the surgery was considered a success. Cory goes back to the doctor on April 14th to get the stitches removed and his arm casted. He is expected to be in the cast for 3 to 4 weeks before starting rehab on the arm, wrist and hand. In the meantime, Cory is going to be making some improvements to his singles bikes and keeping up with his physical conditioning in preparation for the Grand National race in Springfield, IL May 29 and 30th. Thanks again to all for the support and kind words that you have shared with Cory. The encouragement has meant a lot to him at this time.

Update on Cory’s injury…

March 25th, 2010

Hello to all. Just a brief update on the condition of Cory’s left arm/wrist. Cory went for an MRI yesterday (Wednesday) and the results are a little more extensive than first thought. The tests show that he has three broken bones and has some cartilage damage. Cory has an appointment with a surgeon on Friday to determine a course of action and there will be more information to share after that. So though this is an unexpected set back at the moment, Cory is staying positive and is eager to heal so he can get back on the track. Again, as more information becomes available, I will pass that along to all. Thank you so much for your continued support and if you have any questions, concerns, or thoughts, please feel free to pass those along to me or to Cory. Additionally, please keep checking Cory’s website, www.corytexter.com for updates.
